Privacy Policy
Last updated 5 November 2026
IR Vinyl (vinyl.iramesh.com) is a web music player that plays YouTube videos and playlists as audio on a virtual turntable. This policy explains what data the app accesses and what it does with it. In short: IR Vinyl has no server-side database, stores nothing about you on any server, and never sells or shares your data.
Google sign-in and YouTube data
Signing in with Google is optional. If you sign in, IR Vinyl requests these permissions:
| Scope | Why |
|---|---|
openid, profile, email | Show your name and profile photo in the app so you know which account is signed in. |
youtube.readonly | List your YouTube playlists and liked videos, and read the videos in a playlist you choose so they can be played on the turntable. |
IR Vinyl only reads this data. It never creates, edits or deletes anything in your YouTube or Google account.
All requests go directly from your browser to Google's APIs. The access token, your name, photo, email and the list of your playlists are kept only in your browser's local storage on your device, so the app can show them next time. They are never sent to IR Vinyl's servers or to any third party.
Limited Use disclosure
IR Vinyl's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Google user data is used only to provide the user-facing features described above. It is not used for advertising, not sold, not transferred to others, and not used to train AI or machine-learning models. No human reads it.
IR Vinyl also uses YouTube API Services. By using these features you agree to the YouTube Terms of Service, and Google's handling of your data is covered by the Google Privacy Policy.
Your own audio files
Audio files you add with the Files button are never uploaded. They are stored only in your browser (IndexedDB) on that device and played locally. They can disappear if you clear browser data, and they do not sync between devices.
Other data stored in your browser
Recently played songs, saved playlist links, and settings (vinyl style, colour, shuffle, repeat, volume) are kept in your browser's local storage. No cookies are used for tracking, and there is no analytics or advertising.
Third-party services
- YouTube / Google: video playback (embedded player), sign-in and YouTube Data API.
- noembed.com: looks up public video titles for links you paste (only the public video URL is sent).
- Vercel: hosts the website files; it may keep standard server logs (such as IP address) as described in its own privacy policy.
Removing your data and access
- Click Sign out in IR Vinyl. This revokes the access token and deletes the stored profile and playlist list from your browser.
- You can also remove IR Vinyl's access at any time at myaccount.google.com/connections.
- Use Clear files to delete your own audio files, or clear this site's data in your browser settings to remove everything.
Children
IR Vinyl is not directed at children under 13 and does not knowingly collect their data.
